Fail Again Ensemble is a musical and performative contemporary improvisation project featuring woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Conceived for intervention in diverse spaces and interdisciplinary collaboration, the ensemble combines original compositions with the language of Soundpainting (live composition and directing). This methodology allows each performance to adapt to its environment, turning every concert into a unique, bold experience directly connected with the audience.

Led by Mireia Tejero (alto sax, composition, and artistic direction) and David Garcia (soundpainter and live direction) —both founders of the MIS collective (Moviment d'Insurrecció Sonora)—, the project removes fixed hierarchies to view music as a collective process where error or "failure" is reclaimed as a creative engine and a space of freedom. The lineup is completed by Sergi Rovira (tenor sax), Lluís Vallès (baritone sax), Vicent Pérez (trombone), Pol Padrós (trumpet), and Jordi Pallarès (drums and sound objects).

Beyond the standard concert format, the ensemble stands out for its versatility in creating site-specific projects for festivals and boasts an extensive background of collaborations with visual artists and community projects (such as Marcel·lí Antúnez in the street parade-manifesto Natura Centrum Est, presented at MNAC, Sismògraf, and Drap Art, or projects with Festival Mixtur).

 

Although their standard setup is a septet (six musicians and one director), they can easily adapt to smaller formats according to the needs of each venue or event.
